Our take

L'Eau Papier is built from almost nothing: musk, white musk, sesame, mimosa and woody notes, five ingredients doing the work most fragrances spread across three times as many. There is no real top note to speak of, just a soft, powdery musk that is there from the first spray and stays roughly the same shape the whole time. Sesame is the one unusual choice here, giving the musk a faint, nutty, slightly toasted warmth instead of the clean laundry feel white musk usually carries alone. Mimosa adds a yellow floral softness underneath, more texture than scent, and woody notes give the whole thing a dry, powdery structure beneath the musk. This entire fragrance functions as its own drydown, since there is no loud opening to fade away from, just a quiet accord that stays essentially unchanged for as long as you can smell it.

It wears at an average pace, quietly present, and it sits so close to the skin that it barely qualifies as something other people would ever smell. This is the kind of fragrance worn for yourself, a small private ritual best suited to quiet days at a desk or reading at home. What is there stays remarkably stable, the same soft musk and sesame warmth persisting without ever shifting into something else.
