As it dries, the ambergris and olibanum wrap everything in a warm, slightly animalic haze, while sandalwood keeps the base woody and grounded. The whole thing feels like a velvet cushion that’s been slept on for a week, still plush but carrying traces of perfume and skin.
This is a mainstream-leaning floral woody musk with a synthetic sheen that keeps it from feeling natural or expensive. The longevity is decent at 3.70, but the sillage stays close, barely 3.16, which means you’ll need to reapply if you want to be noticed. It suits someone who wants a soft, sweet, powder-amber scent for crisp autumn afternoons or winter evenings by the fire, not for humid summer days when the pear will turn cloying. Skip it if you crave sharp green florals or smoky oud, because Mauve never breaks past its own cushy comfort zone. Is that so bad? For a 2024 launch with a middling 3.43 rating, it’s a pleasant but forgettable shrug in a bottle, better suited to cozy nights than any statement.
