Our take

Moorea opens with a sharp, salty slap of sea spray and lime, the neroli and bergamot adding a fleeting citrus sparkle that feels more like a vacation postcard than an actual ocean breeze. The aquatic notes here are synthetic, yes, but in a deliberately glossy way, like the slick sheen on a sunscreen commercial. As it settles, the heart reveals a dense, tropical floral triad, ylang-ylang and tiare flower pushing forward with a creamy sweetness that the violet leaf and narcissus try to anchor in greenery, but never quite succeed. The base is a muddled patchouli-amber- vetiver blend that sits close to the skin, almost apologetically, after the initial bloom fades. This fragrance is a single, specific image: a half-melted piña colada ice pop dripping onto a white hotel towel on a humid afternoon, pleasant but fleeting. The longevity barely scrapes three hours, and the sillage is a shy whisper that evaporates before you can decide if you like it. It feels like a niche brand’s attempt at a mass-market crowd-pleaser, sweet, approachable, and forgettable. If you want a cheerful, low-commitment spritz for a beachside brunch or a lazy spring afternoon, Moorea will do the job. But if you crave depth, complexity, or any kind of staying power, skip straight to something with a backbone. After all, why settle for a postcard when you could have the real thing?
