Our take

N 8 opens with a startlingly crisp lilac, petal-cool and slightly green, and a Tuscan iris that feels almost damp, like soil after rain. The heart blooms into Parma violet’s candied powder and Damask rose, which here reads more jammy than classic, but the sweetness is reined in by an earthy, musky undercurrent. As it dries, white musk and vanilla smooth everything into a soft, skin-hugging haze, more scent than perfume. 🌸

This is a fragrance that behaves like a watercolor painting left in the rain: lovely while it lasts, but it fades fast. The whole affair is powdery and fresh, a touch synthetic in the violet candied note, but convincingly floral rather than air freshener. Longevity sits around three hours, and sillage is whisper-close. You’ll get the occasional whiff on your own collar, but nobody two feet away will catch it.

Wear this on a cool spring morning, a linen shirt and cardigan kind of day, or for a quiet afternoon tea where intimacy matters more than announcement. It suits those who love delicate, powdery florals and don’t mind reapplying. Skip it if you want presence, a room-filling rose, or any kind of longevity beast. This is a sweet ghost of a garden, not a shout.
