Poseidon From Assam
Fragrance notes
The wood-paneled study smells of old paper and rain on the window glass. A ceramic bowl holds sliced apple and pineapple, their juice pooling on the surface. Someone has placed a small jar of vanilla beans nearby, and a branch of jasmine sits in a glass of water. The air feels thick with these things, unmoving and quiet.
Patchouli and birch sit among the fruit, their edges blending into the sweetness. The birch brings a dark, charred scent that clings to the wooden shelves. Jasmine floats through the space without demanding attention, its white petals adding a soft layer to the heavy air.
Assam oud rises slowly from the floorboards, deep and resinous. It mixes with the vanilla to create a warm, sticky blanket over the room. The leather accord appears in the grain of the armchair, worn and familiar. Smoke from the birch hangs in the corners, wrapping the oud in a dark veil.
The entire room feels like a carved wooden chest left open in a humid greenhouse, filled with overripe fruit, dried flowers, and ancient timber.
