Fragrance notes
Princess Bleu opens with a bright mix of freesia, litchi and peony. The litchi brings a juicy, slightly tropical edge to the freesia, while the peony keeps the start soft rather than sharp. This initial impression is fresh and light, leaning into the fruity side of the accord without becoming sugary. The transition moves into a heart of lily-of-the-valley, magnolia and rose. Here the rose sits at the center, supported by the green, bell-like tone of lily-of-the-valley and the creamy smoothness of magnolia. The floral character is clean and transparent, staying close to a traditional feminine bouquet rather than exploring anything abstract or modern.
The drydown is where the structure becomes more apparent. Virginia cedar adds a dry, pencil-shaving woodiness that grounds the florals, while amber provides a warm, resinous base that gives the fragrance some weight. The amber is noticeable but restrained, never overwhelming the cedar or the remaining rose. Together they create a finish that is floral, woody and gently warm. The limitation here is the synthetic quality of the litchi and peony, which can feel a bit plastic next to the more natural impression of the cedar. The amber also lacks depth, reading more like a flat warmth than a complex resin.
