Our take

Scarlett opens with a bright, almost nervous spritz of blood orange and citruses, green leaves and angelica snapping like a wet stem. The spicy rose hip arrives quickly, followed by a Damask rose that feels plucked too early, still tart and faintly bitter. It is a curious tension, a floral that refuses to lounge. The dry down tames it with a sheer musk and a whisper of warm spices, leaving a powdery, amber-tinged ghost that clings to the skin for about three hours before fading to a polite memory. This is a fragrance that wants to be a head-turning red dress but ends up a silk scarf knotted once, then forgotten.

The overall character is a single vivid image: a half-crushed rose petal left on a sun-warmed citrus rind, tart and green and a little sharp. It feels natural in the sense of a real garden clipping, but the projection is timid, a shoulder-sniff intimacy that the wearer must constantly renew. That low sillage and moderate longevity are its honest weaknesses. It suits a woman who enjoys a crisp, aromatic rose with a spicy bite and prefers her fragrance to whisper rather than announce. Skip it if you want a lush, syrupy rose or a scent that fills a room. Best worn on a cool spring morning or a crisp fall afternoon, when the air can carry its tart freshness without being overwhelmed. Daytime is its natural habitat, though it could linger through a quiet dinner. Why does a rose this interesting have to vanish so quickly?
