Our take

Slowdive by Hiram Green is a honeyed wreck, a floral bloom melting into a warm, sticky ruin. It opens with a bright citrus spritz from orange blossom and neroli, but that freshness is quickly swallowed by something darker, more decadent. The heart is where this fragrance lives: beeswax that smells less of a clean candle and more of the crushed hive itself, tobacco blossom with a hay-like sweetness, dried fruits that recall prunes soaked in amber, and a tuberose that adds a creamy, almost animalic heft. It develops like a jam left too long in the sun, its sugary edges turning syrupy and resinous. The base is pure golden resin, clinging to skin with a soft, intimate hum.

This is a thoroughly natural, niche composition, unapologetically sweet but saved from cloying by a green, slightly waxy undercurrent. It feels like pressing your nose into a bouquet that’s just started to brown at the edges. The longevity and sillage are modest (3.62 and 3.04), so don't expect a room-filler; this is a scent for close encounters, for wool scarves in November or the thick air of a winter bedroom.

Who should wear it? Anyone who loves honey but wants it haunted by floral shadows and a touch of barnyard funk. Skip it if you need crisp, airy freshness or if animalic sweetness makes you queasy. Wear it on a cool fall evening, when the light is low and you're in no rush to leave. A single dab on the wrist that you return to all night, like a secret. 🐝
