Our take

This opens with a squirt of citrus and sea spray that feels like cracking open a dragon fruit on a dock, all watery and bright. The tuberose and jasmine soon take over, but they don’t loll about in the sun; they’ve been crossed with a breezy orange blossom that keeps things airborne. The base of musk and amber is barely a whisper, a thin warmth that vanishes before you can pin it down. The whole thing is a glass of iced white tea that sweats condensation on your wrist for exactly an hour, then evaporates. Is it really worth chasing a scent that disappears faster than your beach towel?

For a tropical floral, St Barts is surprisingly restrained. It never gets syrupy or sticky, and the pitahaya note gives it a green, almost prickly edge that stops the animalic musk from feeling heavy. It feels synthetic in the best way, like a clean linen spray from a boutique hotel, but with none of the depth that commands a room. At 2.33 on sillage, you’re the only one who’ll smell it, and for only about two hours at that. This is for someone who wants a quick hit of vacation mood without commitment, someone who refreshes their scent every time they pass a mirror. Skip it if you need a fragrance to last through dinner or to leave a trail. Wear it for a brunch by the pool or a morning errand run in July, when the heat demands something light and the moment is all you’ve got.
