Cashmere Rose
Fragrance notes
Character
Cashmere Rose opens with a cherry so glossy and synthetic that it feels like the top note of a shampoo, peony stepping in quickly to soften the edges with a powdery, almost cold floral hum. The vanilla arrives mid development as a thin, milky sweetness rather than a dense gourmand, and what rose there is remains a ghost, more an idea of rose than any dewy petal. By dry down, the whole thing settles into a faint, powdery vanilla cloud with a whisper of crushed cherry throat lozenge, pleasant but insubstantial, like the memory of a flavored lip balm worn an hour ago.
The overall character is a cashmere shawl seen through frosted glass, soft and vague and pretty, but never quite warm enough to wrap yourself in. It feels mainstream in the best and worst ways, a scrubbed, office safe sweetness that flirts with floral but commits to neither depth nor daring. The longevity and sillage here are the real story, or rather the lack of one, with the fragrance fading to a skin scent within two hours and barely projecting beyond an arm’s length. For the price, that might be forgivable if the ride were more interesting, but this is a three note sketch that never develops into a full composition.
It suits someone who wants a clean, inoffensive cherry vanilla for daytime errands or a quick spritz before a spring brunch, someone who re applies liberally and doesn’t mind the ephemeral nature of the affair. Skip it if you crave a real rose or any sort of oriental warmth, because this cashmere is more like a polyester blend, smooth at first, but with no lasting hold.
