But give it a quarter of an hour and the Turkish rose and davana creep in, not to soften the fruit but to twist it into something stranger, greener, and slightly herbal. The davana here is key, it adds a boozy, almost wine-like bitterness that keeps the whole thing from tipping into candy territory. As it dries down, the benzoin and patchouli take over, turning the fragrance into a dark, velvety amber cocoon with a faint earthy scrape. The overall image is a crushed velvet handbag at an autumn gala, stuffed with dried rose petals and a forgotten liquorice wrapper.
This is undeniably a mainstream performer, not niche, and the numbers back that up: longevity sits around moderate, sillage polite rather than room-filling, and the seasonal preference for fall and winter is spot on. It feels heavy and sweet, borderline syrupy, with a synthetic gloss that some will find cheap and others will call addictive.
