Our take

Saffron and thyme make an unusual pair at the top, savory and a little sharp, backed by mandarin orange for a brief citrus lift before things turn floral almost without warning. Lily, ylang-ylang and orchid take the heart somewhere warmer and heavier, with a faint metallic edge running underneath all that bloom, the thyme still lingering faintly at the edges.

Vanilla, tonka bean and Brazilian rosewood build a rich, resinous base, giving the fragrance its full character there: noticeable projection that announces itself before you can name a single note, camping out on the skin and staying warm and present long after it's applied, well past when a lighter fragrance would already be gone. Oakmoss adds a dry, earthy note that keeps the sweetness grounded rather than cloying.

Fall and winter are its only real season, heavy and warm enough that summer would feel wrong for it, worn best after dark when its metallic, spiced sweetness has room to unfold properly. It suits someone drawn to bold orientals and works against anyone wanting something quiet or easy to layer over other things.
