Our take

Orange blossom and tuberose arrive together and immediately dominate, an assertive white-floral opening with almost no quiet build-up beforehand. Neroli and Brazilian rosewood add texture underneath, though they barely get a moment to register before tuberose and gardenia take full control. Peach and plum soften the edges just slightly, but this is not a fragrance that eases into itself.

Mimosa, gardenia and ylang-ylang thicken the heart considerably, and the whole thing becomes a dense, sweet mass of white and yellow flowers with cassia adding a faint spiced warmth underneath. Dominique Ropion built this on volume and density from the very first note, and the effect lands like an entire florist's shop opened at once, not one careful arrangement.

Sandalwood, amber, musk and tonka bean anchor the base, giving the tuberose and gardenia somewhere warm to settle rather than staying sharp indefinitely. It holds up very well on skin, and the sillage announces itself early, easily caught by anyone nearby without much subtlety. Fall is its strongest season, with winter and spring both strong enough to keep it in the rotation through most of the colder half of the year.
