Ambre Royal
Fragrance notes
Character
Ylang-ylang and magnolia open the scent with a floral lift that feels polished rather than fresh. The petals read more like a fine fabric than a garden.
Amber and toffee sit at the center, heavy and golden. The sweetness is real, but it stays grounded by a woody accord that keeps the blend from feeling like candy.
Sandalwood and vetiver anchor the base with a dry, earthy presence. The powdery finish gives it a classic edge that suits a formal coat and a dimly room.
Maurice Roucel composed a fragrance that smells expensive and settled. The one drawback is that the floral opening can feel a bit detached from the dense, sweet heart.
