Our take

Amarena opens with a sharp, candied burst of cherry and pomegranate, the fruit stripped of tartness and dipped in syrup. Tuberose pushes through immediately, creamy and indolic, but it’s quickly tamed by a powdery rose that sits at the heart like a pressed flower in an old book. The drydown settles into a soft, vanilla-tinged powder that clings to skin like the ghost of a lipstick kiss. This is a cherry-almond pastry dusted with confectioner’s sugar, served on a porcelain plate in a sunlit café. It feels sweet and floral in a deliberately polished way—more mainstream than niche, but with a refined, almost vintage powderiness that lifts it above drugstore fruitiness.

Where it stumbles is in its sheer will to vanish. With longevity barely scraping two and a half hours and sillage that stays within an arm’s length, this fragrance is a whisper when it should at least be a polite conversation. The cherry and tuberose fade fast, leaving the rose-powder duo to mumble into the skin. You will need to respray if you want anyone past your lunch date to notice.

This is a daylight scent through and through—perfect for a spring brunch, a garden party, or a crisp office where you want to smell pretty without announcing your arrival. Skip it if you crave heft, darkness, or any kind of lasting impression. Amarena is for the woman who wants a delicate, flirtatious floral that feels like a cashmere sweater, not a leather jacket. And really, who among us doesn’t own both?
