Our take

Zoologist Camel opens with a dusty sweetness, dried dates and fruits glistening like amber jewels against a faintly smoky frankincense. The rose here is barely a whisper, quickly swallowed by a heart of warm cinnamon, creamy myrrh, and incense that feels both ancient and intimate. It develops into a rich, balsamic warmth where jasmine and orange blossom add a fleeting floral touch before the base takes over. That base is a thick, animalic embrace: civet and oud thread through soft vanilla and tonka bean, with sandalwood and vetiver grounding everything in dry earth. The overall image is a carved wooden chest, left open in a desert tent, its contents a tangle of sticky dates, spices, and the lingering warmth of a sleeping body.

This is a heavy, almost syrupy oriental, more natural than synthetic in its resinous depth, but undeniably niche in its refusal to please everyone. With a longevity just above average and sillage that stays close to skin, it rewards those who lean in for a closer sniff. It feels best on a cold evening, perhaps a late autumn night by a fire, worn by someone who appreciates barnyard and sweetness in equal measure. If you crave crisp citrus or airy florals, skip this. But if you want a scent that smells like a story, Camel delivers. 🐪
