Our take

It opens with a briny slap, seaweed unfurling like wet rope on a dock at low tide. That marine saltiness is immediately cut by the sharp green bite of myrtle, herbal and almost peppery. For a moment you wonder if you have wandered into a fisherman’s soap. Then the ambergris arrives, dusty and warm, pulling the whole thing into body heat and sunbaked driftwood. The Peru balsam adds a faint vanilla-tinged resin, while the musk stays clean and barely animalic, never turning sour. The dry down is a quiet sand dollar on a beach towel: still a little damp, a little salty, but mostly sun-warmed skin.

It feels both natural and contrived, like a niche house trying very hard to prove it can do aquatics without smelling like a pool store. The longevity is a solid three hours before it becomes a whisper, and the sillage stays close enough that only your company will notice. That is fine for a scent best worn on a bright summer morning, tucked into a linen shirt or spritzed before a coastal bike ride. It suits people who want a salty, aromatic freshness without the screechy citrus most summer scents rely on. Skip it if you need projection or any kind of warmth for evening wear. This is a daytime stray dog, loyal and low-key, not a nightclub wolf.
