Fille en Aiguilles
Fragrance notes
Character
A walk through a resin-heavy forest is the closest comparison for the opening of Fille en Aiguilles: balsam fir and pine needles, sharp and a little sticky underfoot. Incense joins almost immediately, giving the green a smoky, dark edge, and dried fruits and spices add a warm sweetness on top of it. Vetiver and bay leaf ground that sweetness in something herbal and slightly bitter, and the solar notes keep the whole thing feeling sunlit rather than damp.
This is built for cold weather and stays there: fall and winter are the only seasons it really wants, and the fir and incense make sense once the air outside turns sharp too. Someone who loves the smell of an actual Christmas tree will get along with it immediately. Someone who wants woody fragrances clean and abstract may find the dried fruit note too specific, closer to an actual memory than an abstract mood.
On skin it wears down at a plain, unhurried rate through an evening out, and the sillage stays gentle, catching whoever happens to be nearby. Fille en Aiguilles smells like a specific place, and it does not apologize for that.
