The opening is the fragrance’s least subtle moment, and for some that will be the dealbreaker. Give it ten minutes, though, and the fruit settle into something more interesting: a peony-magnolia-ylang heart that blooms with a powdery, yellow floral warmth, like the inside of a hothouse after a sudden rain. The base is where the real work happens: vetiver cuts through the sugar with a grassy, aromatic bite, while musk and sandalwood soften the landing, and amber adds a faint, dusty glow. The overall character is a plush, creamy fruit-floral with a dirty edge — imagine a silk robe stained with mango juice and garden soil. It wears sweet but not cloying, leaning slightly synthetic in the top notes but settling into a surprisingly natural-feeling woody-musk drydown.
