Perverso
Fragrance notes
Character
Perverso opens with a boozy slap of rum and tobacco, the hazelnut adding a savory crunch that keeps the sweetness from turning into a sugar bomb. The heart pulls you deeper with caramel and cacao, but Spyros Drosopoulos doesn’t let it go full dessert: styrax and fig introduce a smoldering, almost medicinal bitterness that stops the gourmand from ever feeling safe. As it dries down, ambergris and musk turn the base into a warm, slightly salty skin scent, the woodiness anchoring everything like the floorboards of a bar that hasn’t been swept in decades.
This fragrance is a heavy, unapologetic blanket best worn in deep winter when the air itself feels brittle. The longevity is exceptional, clinging to a scarf for a full workday, and the sillage projects just enough to leave a trail without overwhelming a dinner table. If I had to capture it in a single image: this is the scent of a leather wallet that has been pressed against a copper flask for too long, warm and stained and unshakable.
It feels niche through and through, not because it’s weird, but because it refuses to polish its rougher edges. Who should wear it? Anyone who likes their gourmands with a dirty undertow, who wants to smell edible but also like they just stepped out of a back room where deals are murmured. Skip it if you prefer clean laundry or citrus: the sweetness here comes with an amber weight that will flatten a sunny day. Wear it to a late November dinner, a dim lounge, or anywhere you want to feel like you have a secret worth keeping.
