Quartz opens with a sharp, resinous lift from elemi that feels like snapping a twig off a living tree. Clary sage arrives beside it, herbal and slightly woolly, steering the opening away from anything citrus bright. The aromatic accord settles fast, leaning into the conifer family with a green, needle-like freshness that stays close to the skin in character rather than in reach.
Balsam fir takes over the center with a sticky, sap-heavy warmth that pulls the scent toward the balsamic side of the accord list. Labdanum adds a deep amber weight underneath, while moss brings an earthy, damp shadow that keeps the resin from feeling polished. The mineral note runs through the middle like cold stone, giving the woody structure a clean, gray surface that never turns sweet.
This is a fragrance built around the image of a granite hillside where resin drips from fir trunks into the damp soil below. The smell is dry, aromatic, and firmly masculine, with a texture that feels rough under the fingers rather than smooth. Nathalie Lorson composed a scent that stays in the forest without wandering into the cabin.
