Our take

The name translates to black ink, and the fragrance lives up to it: a single dark stroke of vetiver with almost nothing softening the edges. Cypress opens dry and green, all crushed branches and no citrus brightness, before clearing to hand the whole composition over to the vetiver underneath. There is no top note in the usual sense, no bright opening meant to catch attention before the real structure arrives.

From there it barely shifts. Cashmere wood wraps a dry hush around the vetiver's rawness, and musk keeps the earthiness grounded, giving the blend enough weight to stick around rather than fading fast while keeping it a modest bubble that other people register only within arm's reach. What changes is texture more than direction, the roughness of raw vetiver smoothing out slightly as the cashmere wood and musk settle in underneath it. Fall and winter suit it best, worn by anyone drawn to a minimalist, nearly monochrome take on vetiver and willing to skip the sweetness most modern woody scents lean on. There is very little here for someone hoping for citrus, sweetness, or a gourmand base.
