Our take

Orange blossom opens like a wisp of silk caught on a splinter of cedar, all softness and tension. The heart is a cool, dry wood, almost architectural, but then tonka bean melts in like warm honey seeping into grain. This is not a fragrance that shouts. It is a quiet confession, a cedar pencil shaving tucked into a book of pressed flowers. The sweetness from the tonka is there, but it stays close, powdered and gentle, never tipping into gourmand territory. The white floral note from the orange blossom adds a fleeting, almost soapy freshness, like skin still damp from a spring rain.

The problem is its reluctance to perform. Longevity barely brushes two and a half hours, and sillage hovers around the intimate zone of a whisper. You spray it and within an hour you are reaching for your wrist to remind yourself it is still there. The overall character feels like a ribbon loosely tied around a letter, delicate and destined to be forgotten by midday. For some that is poetry. For others it is a waste of juice.

This suits someone who wants a woody vanilla ghost, a scent that stays a secret even to the wearer. Skip it if you want presence or projection. Wear it in fall, when the air already smells like dry leaves and amber, or on a cool spring evening when you want to blur into the background. It is a day scent, best for solitary walks or a quiet afternoon at a desk, where no one needs to know you are wearing anything at all.
