Ani X opens like a glass of sparkling citrus soda spiked with ginger and pink pepper, the effervescence of water notes and melon keeping things airy rather than syrupy. That initial fizz quickly gives way to a heart that is where the tension lives: green apple and black currant snap tartly against a lavender-patchouli spine, with a whisper of rose that never turns girlish. The dry down is where Cécile Zarokian’s wizardry becomes undeniable. Vanilla is present but not gooey, sandalwood and cashmere wood wrap it in a soft, creamy haze, and ambergris adds a salty, almost mineral warmth that keeps the whole composition from floating away.

The overall character is that of a jade cocktail served in a glass-bricked greenhouse at dusk: bright, green, slightly aquatic, yet grounded in woody comfort. It feels natural in its citrus and green notes, but there is a subtle synthetic shimmer in the aquatic accord that prevents it from being completely “farmers market” fresh. This is clearly niche in intent but mainstream in wearability a polite player rather than a projector, with sillage hovering at a modest 3.41 and longevity around four to five hours before fading into a skin scent. That restraint is both its strength and its weakness.

You want this for transition seasons spring evenings, crisp autumn afternoons, or overcast summer days when you need a lift without suffocating the room. It works equally well at 10am and 10pm.
