Fougèriste opens with dewberry, Tunisian neroli, lemon, and bergamot. The fruit is soft and slightly tart, the citrus bright and clean. Lavender and orange blossom lead the heart, supported by violet leaf, Egyptian jasmine, crithmum, Brazilian rosewood, and basil. The lavender is prominent and herbal, the orange blossom adds a creamy white floral layer, and the violet leaf brings a crisp green edge. Basil and crithmum add a savory, slightly salty freshness that keeps the florals from feeling heavy. Jasmine sits in the background, adding gentle warmth.
The base combines indole, musk, Australian sandalwood, moss, Atlas cedar, Virginia cedar, patchouli, and tonka bean. Indole adds a distinct animalic sharpness that cuts through the woods and musk. Sandalwood and cedar provide dry, resinous structure, while patchouli and tonka bean add earth and mild sweetness. Moss reinforces the green character from the heart. The indole is the clear limitation here. It grows stronger as the fragrance develops and will feel too pungent for anyone expecting a purely fresh or clean fougere.
