Kurskaya belongs on someone who wants a tropical fruit to survive a cold wind without turning into candy. The opening pairs jackfruit and bergamot with wormwood, and that bitter green edge is the first reason the fragrance holds its ground. The fruit stays bright rather than syrupy because the wormwood cuts the juice before it can settle into a smoothie impression. Gardenia and grapes arrive in the heart, but cardamom keeps the air dry around them, so the floral side never slips into a standard white flower accord. You smell the gardenia, then a spark of spice, then the grape skin that pulls it back toward something peeled and real.
The base is where the argument lands. Dark chocolate and tobacco meet oud and labdanum, and the combination reads like a heavy scarf draped over a market stall still selling ripe fruit. Saffron and tonka bean round the edges so the smoke stays edible, not medicinal. Champaca lifts the whole foundation just enough to keep the chocolate from flattening the florals that came earlier.
