Bergamot and mandarin orange open Silver Mountain Water bright and citrus-forward, and green tea slides in almost immediately, giving the fragrance its clearest signature: cool and faintly bitter rather than sweet. Black currant adds a small fruity dart to the heart, and the whole profile stays fresh and green throughout, better suited to spring and summer air than to darker months.
What makes it worth returning to is how convincingly the green tea reads as tea and not just a generic green accord. It sits at the center of nearly every stage of the wear, tying the bright citrus opening to the woodier notes waiting underneath, so nothing feels bolted on for the sake of structure.
Musk, sandalwood, petitgrain and galbanum keep the base light, more an extension of the green tea than a heavyweight drydown. It holds for a fair stretch on the skin, and what lingers around the wearer reaches a conversation partner without carrying much further, an easy fragrance for daytime, for the office or a warm afternoon outdoors. Steeped leaves left a little too long on a warm windowsill is the closest thing to what stays in mind afterward.
