Our take

You open with a brisk citrus chord, mandarin and bergamot zesting across the skin before a soft, powdery green tea arrives. The heart is where Creed’s Asian Green Tea tries to be interesting, tucking black currant and violet among the heliotrope and rose, but the fruit and florals feel politely blurred, never quite sharpening into a statement. It dries down to a clean, musky sandalwood with a faint amber sweetness, all very well behaved.

This is a scent that sits close, like a whisper in a room full of people. With a sillage of 2.80 and longevity barely touching three hours, it is not built for presence or endurance. It is a fleeting fragrance, a wisp of steam rising from a porcelain cup on a sun warmed veranda, there and gone. The overall character is fresh and gently sweet with a powdery veil that feels more natural than synthetic, though the green tea accord lacks the genuine leaf bitterness some might crave.

This is for someone who wants an easy, unassuming daytime scent for spring or summer, a warm morning at the office or a leisurely brunch. Skip it if you expect projection or a full day’s wear, there are bargains that last longer. At its best, Asian Green Tea is a pleasant, polite trifle, but a trifle nonetheless. Is that worth Creed’s price tag? Only if brevity and subtlety are exactly what you’re after.
