Cinnamon and honey open Oajan together, warm and a little sticky, like the moment before a resin starts to melt over heat. Osmanthus threads through early on, apricot soft, but it doesn't stay the star for long. Benzoin and labdanum take over in the heart, thickening the whole thing into a dense, spiced amber that leaves the fruity opening behind, while artemisia works a bitter green edge through the sweetness, giving it a sharper, less cloying finish.
The base is where Oajan earns its keep: vanilla, tonka bean, patchouli and musk fold into a dense, resinous blanket that leans toward incense more than dessert. Sillage pushes outward more than it hangs back, registering with people nearby before you've said a word, so a light hand at application matters.
Once it's on, the amber and musk keep it dense for a good while, thinning only gradually.
Cold weather and dim rooms suit it more than humid afternoons, and so does anyone drawn to spice and resin over fruit and florals. Skin that runs warm will push the honey note further forward, and fans of quieter ambers may find the presence more than they bargained for.
