Our take

Kufi opens with a sharp, green bite of lemongrass and reed. Red wine adds a dark, fermented sweetness to the top layer. Juniper and coriander bring a cool, piercing aromatic edge. The initial spray feels like stepping into a damp, shadowy cellar where fruit is fermenting in wooden barrels.

Plum and grapes take over, heavy and syrupy. Dried fruits deepen the sugary aspect, but cardamom and papyrus prevent it from becoming a simple gourmand. Cannabis lends a resinous, slightly bitter greenness to the heart. Lotus floats on top of the dense fruit, offering a faint watery lift that disappears quickly. The mix feels dense and textured, like a heavy tapestry.

Myrrh and mastic provide a dry, resinous finish that anchors the fruit. The musk is soft and skin-like beneath the sharper resins. The composition is compelling, but the strong red wine and dried fruit notes can feel a bit synthetic and cloying to some noses. It is a dense scent that requires a tolerance for heavy, sweet fermented accords.
