Our take

Basil is the note doing the real work here, green and slightly peppery, cutting through the clementine and bitter orange before they can turn into orange juice. Green tea and ivy add a leafy, bitter edge, so the first impression is more herb garden than fruit bowl. Mandarin orange returns in the heart alongside chamomile and peony, softening the basil into something rounder without losing the green thread running underneath. Nothing here is heavy or obviously sweet; it stays crisp, built for hot mornings far more than for evenings.

Sandalwood and amber close it out, and this is the quietest, shortest part of the composition. There is a soft, faint woody warmth at the very end, barely a suggestion, not a full statement, and it never really departs from the citrus and basil that came before it. It is a brief-to-average stretch, a quick sprint rather than anything sustained, and it sits on the skin like a private, sunlit glow. Wear this in spring and summer, in daylight, since its brightness belongs to daytime, not an evening out. It fits a morning at a desk better than a dinner table, and it skips the sweetness or heft that would make it feel wintery. What is here is basil and citrus done cleanly, with little interest in showing off.
