Our take

Red apple and mandarin orange open sweet and a little tart, with bergamot cutting through the fruit so it never sits flat. Magnolia, iris and ylang-ylang build a soft, powdery floral heart, with jasmine adding a warmer, more indolic edge underneath the paler flowers, though none of it lasts long before the base arrives.

White honey, vanille, amber, benzoin and musk take over for a long, sweet finish that carries the fragrance to its close. The honey note is thick and a little waxy, less like poured syrup and more like the comb itself, waxen and warm. Benzoin and amber add a resinous sweetness underneath, and vanille smooths the whole base into something rounder, while musk keeps it anchored to the skin instead of turning into a cloud around the wearer. It stays put once it settles into the skin, and it reaches whoever's standing near, no further, a quiet finish and not a grand one.

Fall and winter are when this makes the most sense, though a mild spring evening carries it just as well, given how close day and night scores run for it. Honeyed orientals with real sweetness are the appeal here, best for someone patient enough to let the drydown reveal itself, in no hurry for an attention-grabbing opening.
