Lys 41
Fragrance notes
Character
Lys 41 opens like a greenhouse door swinging shut behind you, trapping the breath of a dozen white blooms in hot, humid air. The tuberose is the star, but not the waxy debutante of a hundred commercial florals. This one is carnal, its petals bruised and oozing a green, almost fungal sweetness. The lily and jasmine pile on, creamy and indolic, before the vanilla and musk wade in to soften the edges. The dry down is where the animalic base reveals itself, a salty, skin-like musk that clings to the woody scaffold. This is not a purist’s lily. It is a night-blooming jasmine vine strangling a marble statue in a forgotten courtyard. The sillage is modest, a shoulder-close presence that fades faster than its price tag suggests, and longevity barely scratches the afternoon. Lys 41 feels like a niche experiment that leans mainstream in its vanilla sweetness, but the dirty tuberose keeps it from being polite. Ideal for a spring lunch or a summer evening when you want to smell expensive without screaming for attention. Skip it if you hate white florals or demand projection that fills a room. The rest of us? We will take the intimacy of a flower that knows exactly how dangerous it can be.
