Character
Pear, apple and mixed citruses open Another 13 fresh and a little sharp, more juice than perfume at first. Amyl salicylate gives the heart a faint, clean lift that sits close to the ambrette, both of them quiet enough to blend into the base early. Ambrette and jasmine move in early, and moss adds quiet depth underneath the fruit. The bubble it gives off stays near, easy to live alongside, and it shows real staying power, easing off slowly rather than dropping out all at once.
Iso E Super, Cetalox, Helvetolide and Ambrettolide make up most of the base, and together they read as a clean, synthetic musk more than a traditional woody amber. Cetalox in particular is doing a lot of the base's heavy lifting, giving it that smooth, almost weightless quality synthetic musks are known for.
That synthetic quality is part of the point, smooth and a little abstract, closer to skin than to a traditional amber base.
It suits nearly every season, citrus-bright in spring and a touch warmer once amber takes over in fall. The pear and apple from the opening keep surfacing faintly even in the driest part of the base, a fruity thread that never completely disappears.
