The vanilla is present but restrained, folded into a balsamic styrax that leans smoky rather than syrupy. This is not the warm hug you expect from a tonka scent. The musk base is clean and sheer, barely anchoring the composition. The whole thing dries down to a faint, papery residue on skin, lacking the creamy depth a name like "Tonka" promises.
Imagine a leather-bound journal left open in a sunlit, cedar-paneled study, the pages dry and smelling of dust and faint orange rind, but the ink has already run dry. That is the overall character: pleasant, intellectual, but ultimately unfinished. The sillage is audibly whisper quiet barely 3 out of 5, and longevity is just above average, maybe four hours before it turns into a ghost. This makes it a poor choice for heavy winter wear, despite the seasonal data, and better suited to a cool spring day when you want something that stays close. Who should wear it? Someone who finds Santal 33 too loud and seeks a quieter, more powdery alternative, but who doesn’t actually want sweetness to dominate. Who should skip it?
