Our take

Black currant opens Amor Amor tart and a little sharp, backed by orange and grapefruit for extra citrus snap before rose takes over in the middle of the composition. That rose stays soft and a touch powdery, never heavy or indolic, keeping the whole thing feeling young rather than dressed up for an occasion.

Vanilla and tonka bean settle in at the end, warm but light-handed, never turning the composition syrupy. Longevity keeps enough presence to notice, not enough to linger, and the sillage keeps its footprint small, best experienced up close. All four seasons score reasonably close together here, so this works as a genuine year-round option, not something tied to one stretch of weather.

Laurent Bruyere and Dominique Ropion built a fragrance clearly aimed at an easy, approachable market, and it succeeds at exactly that without needing to be more complicated than it is. Apricot and lily add a soft fruit-floral hum in the background that most people will register as pleasant without picking apart note by note.

It stays light, cheerful and easy to wear for daily rotation, never demanding much thought, with rose and black currant giving it a distinct identity of its own.
