Adidas Active Bodies opens with a brisk slap of lavender and aldehydes, cut by a lemon sharpness that feels almost medicinal. The green notes and caraway add a herbaceous bite, and for a moment you think you are in an aftershave from a forgotten decade. Then the heart warms into pine needles and cedar, a woody interior that softens with a whisper of rose and freesia, but never sweetens. The base settles into a classic fougere finish: oakmoss, amber, labdanum, and a tonka bean that keeps things dry rather than cloying. This is not a fragrance that shouts. It is a worn leather armchair in a hunting lodge, faded and comfortable, with a faint trace of pipe smoke in the upholstery.
The performance tells the story honestly. Longevity sits at a modest three and a half, sillage barely above three. You will get a few hours of pleasant projection, then a skin scent that lingers politely. It is mainstream in the best sense, a workhorse from 1990 that never pretended to be niche. The green lavender top can feel dated, and the synthetic edge on the aldehydes shows its age. But the drydown is genuinely appealing, a mossy amber that works especially well in spring and fall.
