Our take

A dessert built from warm spice more than sugar, Noir Extreme opens on cardamom, nutmeg, and saffron, sharp and warm before mandarin orange and neroli cut in with brightness. Kulfi in the heart is the strange, memorable part, a creamy, milky sweetness against rose and white flowers that comes across more like spiced custard than a floral bouquet.

Vanilla, amber, sandalwood, and other woody notes carry the base, thick and balsamic, powdery enough that the sweetness never turns cloying. Sonia Constant leaned into contrast throughout: spice against cream, brightness against weight, so the whole thing feels considered rather than accidental.

It shows real staying power and stays as a scent you'd need to lean toward to catch, closer to a whisper than a statement. Fall and winter suit the spice and amber best, though the citrus opening gives it enough lift to work into early spring too. Night is where it belongs far more than daylight hours, the kind of composition that gets richer the later it gets worn.

This leans toward the unusual side of orientals, built for people who want their spice paired with real sweetness, not sugar alone. Someone wanting a clean, simple citrus or fresh scent will find the kulfi and saffron combination too rich and unusual for daily wear.
