Character
NSFW opens with a brutalist bouquet of four roses, Bulgarian, Turkish, May, Damask, all stacked like a floral battering ram. The vanilla and papyrus in the heart soften the impact into something more plush, but the geranium adds a green, almost herbal snap that keeps it from tipping into dessert. As it dries, benzoin and violet dust the whole affair with a powdery warmth, while Laotian oud and patchouli anchor it in a dark, woody basement. The overall character is a crushed velvet armchair in a room that smells of old incense and lipstick, heavy and brooding rather than fresh or playful.
This is undeniably niche in intention, but the execution feels slightly synthetic around the edges, the roses a bit too candied to be natural. The longevity is decent at moderate, and the sillage sits close, so you won't choke a room, but you also won't leave a trail. It earns its 3.35 rating honestly, it is a solid winter choice, tested at 100% for that season and 96% for fall, but it wilts in summer heat. Wear it to a late dinner in November, or alone on a rainy Sunday when you want to feel expensive without shouting. Skip it if you prefer airy scents or dislike powdery florals. Who is this for? Someone who wants a rose that wears a leather jacket, but doesn't quite have the budget for the real thing.
