Our take

Pear and ginger make an unusual opening pair in Blue Talisman: pear brings a soft, slightly watery sweetness while ginger cuts underneath it with a dry, peppery warmth, and bergamot and mandarin orange round out a top that is citrusy without being sharp. It is a gentler, less aggressive opening than most designer citrus launches attempt.

Orange blossom carries the heart along with Georgywood, a captive woody-amber material that gives the middle a smooth, almost creamy texture instead of a sharp floral turn. By the base, musk, ambrofix, akigalawood and cedar take over, synthetic-leaning woods that stay clean and modern, never earthy or resinous, closing the fragrance on a pale, almost translucent note.

Spring and summer are where this performs best, caught in daylight when the pear-and-citrus opening gets room to shine before the woody base takes hold. Longevity is properly long-lasting, the georgywood-driven base holding its ground far longer than the citrus opening did, and sillage stays modest, close enough to notice on a handshake. It is a bright, modern, faintly sweet woody citrus, more polished than rugged, built for someone who wants fruit and wood without much drama in between.
