Our take

Brit Sheer is a shy girl that never quite finds her voice. It opens with a bright, bubbly spritz of litchi and yuzu, a citrusy pineapple leaf adding a slightly sharp green edge before the whole thing collapses into a soft, peachy floral blush. The heart is a creamy pastel blur of peony and pear, sweet but not syrupy, with a clean white musk and pale woods base that feels like the faint scent of laundry dried in the sun. The overall character is that of a half-finished watercolor: pretty strokes, but no real depth or staying power.

And that is the tragedy. With a longevity of 2.68 and a sillage barely above a whisper, this fragrance evaporates faster than a morning mist. You get a lovely, fresh, tropical floral burst for maybe an hour, then a ghost of white musk for another two. It is undeniably pleasant, perfectly pleasant, the kind of mainstream fruity floral that would not offend anyone at a summer brunch or an afternoon stroll through a botanical garden. It suits the woman who wants to smell clean and sweet without making a statement. But if you want to be remembered, if you want a fragrance that lingers in a room, skip it. This is a scent for the closest of close encounters, a secret you whisper, not a name you shout. It feels natural enough, but the synthetic pineapple leaf gives away its designer pedigree. A perfect spring or summer weekday spritz for the office or a day out shopping, but do not expect it to survive your commute home. Can a fragrance truly be sheer if it barely exists?
