Our take

Thyme and cypress open Conchiglie Verdi with a sharp, resinous cut. The sea notes arrive immediately, salty and cool, wrapped in a green that feels pulled from a coastal path. Myrtle and cedar press in from the heart, dry and clean, while palisander rosewood adds a faint, polished wood warmth. Heliotrope softens the edges without turning the blend sweet.

Patchouli and vanilla anchor the base, but the white musk keeps the finish airy. The marine accord never disappears, sitting under the herbs like a constant mist. It feels composed by Massimiliano Torti with a clear eye on the shoreline, where the air smells of scrub and salt. The aromatic and fresh spicy accords sit comfortably beside the woody ones, creating a scent that is herbal first and aquatic second.

The limitation is the heliotrope. It introduces a powdery tilt that distracts from the crisp thyme and the salty air. In a garden lit by string lights after a warm day, that softness feels out of place among the cedar and the sea. The vanilla deepens the base more than the herbs can balance, leaving a faintly dusty trace on a fragrance that wants to be sharp and clear.
