Concrete Tide

The boardwalk is still warm from the afternoon sun when the breeze picks up off the water. Jasmine floats in first, soft and slightly humid, catching on the air around a group of people leaning against the railing. It does not sit heavy. The white flower moves quickly into the salt that clings to skin and hair, and the privet adds a green, slightly tangled edge that smells like hedges growing wild near the pavement. Patchouli grounds the middle with a damp earthiness that feels natural here, placed against the concrete and the noise of the street just behind the rail.

Ambroxan and sandalwood take shape as the walk continues, smooth and dry against the damp air. The musk settles close, clean and steady, while the marine accord keeps the whole scene tethered to the water. It smells like a city that meets the ocean, where floral petals land on hot stone and the spray from the tide leaves a salty film on everything nearby. The aromatic facets sharpen the air, and the warm spicy note hums quietly beneath the wood, giving the pavement and the plants a shared heat that rises as the light stretches across the railings and the water.

The group stays there as the air shifts again, jasmine returning in small waves whenever the wind changes direction, salt still present on the skin, patchouli and privet tangled in the background while the sandalwood and ambroxan hold the dry, amber warmth against the damp, moving air that carries the scent along the walkway and over the edge of the concrete
