Cuir Nappa
Fragrance notes
Character
Cuir Nappa opens with a tart raspberry note that sits beside a dry saffron thread. The rose in the top layer is present but restrained, lending a floral lift without steering the fragrance into a traditional rose soliflore. This initial blend feels bright and slightly metallic, a sharp contrast to the deeper materials waiting underneath.
The heart introduces suede and jasmine. The suede brings a soft leather texture that feels worn and pliable rather than stiff or aggressive. Jasmine adds a white floral airiness that prevents the leather from feeling too heavy. Together, they create a clean, skin-like floral leather that remains close to the body.
In the base, musk and heliotrope combine to create a powdery, sweet foundation. Sandalwood adds a creamy woodiness that smooths the edges of the sharper top notes. The overall impression is musky and warm, with a vanilla accord that provides a gentle sweetness throughout the wear.
The composition works well during a cool morning walk when the air is crisp or inside a heated room when the windows are fogged with condensation. The raspberry and saffron provide enough sparkle for daytime, while the suede and musk hold the scent through the evening. The fragrance lacks complexity in its dry down, as the notes blend into a single powdery musk without distinct separation.
