Dolce Violet
Fragrance notes
Character
Dolce Violet opens with a crisp citrus sparkle, mandarin orange and cassis giving a tart, almost electric fizz before cyclamen ushers in a cool, soapy freshness. The heart is where this earns its name: violet emerges soft and powdery, dusted with pear’s juicy sweetness and a darker knot of blackcurrant that keeps the florals from floating away. But the base is where the whole thing collapses into a gentle vanilla musk, a whisper of sandalwood barely propping it up. The entire composition feels like a watercolor sketch dabbed onto rice paper, pretty and translucent, but gone before the paint dries. Longevity is a cruel joke at under three hours, and sillage vanishes so fast you wonder if you sprayed anything at all. The fruit and violet are faintly synthetic in that department store way, no rough edges but also no soul. This is a springtime spritz for the office or a brunch with friends, strictly daytime, strictly for someone who wants to smell nice without announcing her presence. Skip it if you crave projection or a fragrance that lasts past noon, or if you expect violet to bite rather than blush.
