Our take

Eternal Roots opens with a startlingly sweet burst of lychee and pink pepper, the fruit almost jammy against the bergamot’s citrus snap. That sugary raspberry bloom slides in fast, dolloped with labdanum and a suede so plush it feels like licking the inside of a designer handbag. The base promises smoke, vetiver, and birch, but they arrive late and half-hearted, leaving the composition stranded somewhere between a fruity gourmand and a woody chypre that never fully commits to either side. The overall impression is a candied leather jacket left out in a spring rain, the sweetness clinging even as the damp earth tries to pull it down. It feels synthetic in its first hour, then nudges into a surprisingly wearable hybrid: not quite niche in its reluctance to challenge, not quite mainstream in its sticky complexity. The numbers don’t lie. With a longevity of 2.69 and sillage barely above two, this is a close-skin affair that evaporates before the evening truly begins. That fall rating of 100 percent makes sense, the smoky base needs cool air to breathe, but even then you'll be respritzing. Who should wear it? The person who wants a playful, sugar-dusted woody scent for a casual brunch or a soft evening indoors. Who should skip it? Anyone hunting for projection, heft, or a true leather or smoke powerhouse. The fruit dominates, the roots never dig deep, and that’s the whole frustrating, fleeting charm.
