Gharam
Fragrance notes
Character
Gharam opens like a fruit salad left out in the sun: tangerine rind, juicy pear, and a whiff of canned pineapple all bobbing in a syrup. It is immediately sweet, almost aggressively so, but the magnolia and jasmine sambac step in quickly to pull it away from candy territory. The floral heart is lush but indistinct, more of a general white petal powder than a specific bloom. As it dries, the praline and amber wrap everything in a warm, milky haze, with cashmere wood and sandalwood softening the edges into a plush, slightly synthetic vanilla musk.
This is a crowd-pleaser in the worst sense: it smells like a mall kiosk that sold you a body mist you loved at age sixteen. The accords are all sweetness and fresh citrus, no jagged edges, no surprises. That might be fine for someone who wants to smell like a peach Bellini at brunch without offending anyone. But here is the catch. With a longevity barely past three hours and sillage that barely lifts off the skin, Gharam evaporates before you can even decide if you like it. It sits close, whispers, then vanishes. For the price, you are getting a fleeting perfume, not a presence. Wear it to a daytime picnic or a casual coffee date, but skip it if you want to be smelled across the room or remembered past noon. 😕
