Our take

Morning sun cuts across a wooden deck where the air feels warm and dry. A man sits with his sleeves rolled up, the tangerine in GO. Man bright and immediate against the pale timber. It smells like fresh peel crushed between fingers, oily and sharp, not candied or heavy. The citrus sits close to the skin, clear and uncomplicated, while the day hums with quiet activity around him.

Jasmine rises next, soft and slightly soapy, blending with a mineral ambergris that feels smooth rather than salty. The flowers do not dominate. They round out the opening without turning sweet, keeping the mood clean and composed. Guaiac wood adds a dry, polished grain to the air, its smoke absent, its texture steady and plain.

Moss and patchouli ground the scene with an earthy weight that feels damp against the dry wood. The moss is green and flat, the patchouli dark and rooty, pulling the fragrance toward the forest floor rather than the open sky. The accords stay woody and amber, never sharp, never loud, just present in the warm light.

The composition stays linear once the wood settles. Thierry Bessard keeps the tangerine and jasmine from clashing, but the heart never develops a second movement. It smells good, yet it lacks a shift in character that would make the scene feel complete.
