L'Immensité is built for warm weather. Grapefruit and bergamot open crisp and bitter, ginger adding a spicy kick right alongside them, sharp enough to feel almost carbonated in the first few minutes.
Water notes and rosemary push the heart in an aquatic, herbal direction, sage adding a dry, slightly bitter accent, and geranium a small green-floral lift. Nothing about the heart is sweet or soft, it stays firmly in fresh, aromatic territory throughout, with barely a hint of the classic woody-amber base yet to come. It smells more like sea air over rosemary bushes than a typical fresh cologne.
Ambroxan, amber and labdanum settle into the base, warm and a little musky but never heavy enough to compete with the freshness up top. It is long-lasting for something this bright, holding its citrus-aromatic character well, and the sillage settles into a modest, easy presence right at the wearer's shoulder.
Spring and summer are clearly where it belongs, with fall workable and winter a poor fit for something this fresh. Ambroxan gives the base a smooth, transparent finish, letting the grapefruit and ginger stay legible well into the drydown.
