Fragrance notes
Liquorette is a dessert in perfume form, and that is its entire argument. NOMR composed a fragrance that leans fully into its gourmand accords without searching for balance. The opening combines cherry and brandy with dried fruits, creating a dark fruit presence that feels thick and syrupy. It does not pretend to be a fresh or airy release. The brandy note gives the fruit a fermented edge, but the sweetness remains the dominant force from the first spray.
The heart reinforces this direction with chocolate, caramel, and oud. The chocolate and caramel turn the scent into a confection, while the oud provides a woody backing that keeps the sugar from floating away. It is a heavy, resinous warmth that sits close to the skin in texture. The cacao accord is prominent here, making the composition feel like a rich truffle rather than a light floral.
Peru balsam, patchouli, labdanum, and vanilla form a base that is entirely amber and balsamic. These notes lock the sweetness into a sticky, resinous finish. The labdanum and patchouli add an earthy depth, but they serve the warm spicy accord rather than cooling the blend. It is a unified, singular vision of a sweet oriental vanilla that offers no contrast to its gourmand nature.
The limitation is that Liquorette lacks versatility. Because the profile is so intensely sweet and heavy on caramel and cherry, it becomes overwhelming in heat or in professional settings. There is no bright or dry element to cut through the sugar. It is a specific treat for specific moments, and wearing it requires a commitment to its unapologetic richness.
